The city is built in 1559 A.D. by Maharaja Udai Singh and has been described as the most romantic spot on the continent of India by Col. James Todd. Visit the City Palace museum, Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir ( Folk art museum) and the Pratap Memorial. Rest of the day at leisure. Night stay in Udaipur. Day 12 / Udaipur - Kumbhalgarh Morning drive to Kumbhalgarh. Visit the enormous fort and palace built by Maharana Kumbha which was never seiged. Also visit the wild life sanctuary, Tribal villages and the Ranakpur Jain Temples. Night stay in Kumbhalgarh. Day 13 / Kumbhalgarh - Mt Abu Morning drive to Mt Abu. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Later by evening visit the incomparable Delwara Temples and the sunset point. Night stay in Mt Abu. Day 14 / Mt Abu - Jodhpur Morning drive to Jodhpur. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Evening at leisure. Night stay in Jodhpur. Day 15 / Jodhpur Morning half day jeep safari to Bishnoi villages to see the sincere concerns shown by Bishnoi community for environmental conservation. Later back at Jodhpur and visit Mehrangarh Fort, Mehrangarh Fort was founded in 15th century by the Rathore Rajputs when they shifted their capital from nearby Mandore to Jodhpur. Mehrangarh appears to rise from bluff-coloured sandstone hill itself, so well built into the base that it is difficult to tell where the hill ends and the walls begin. It is approached by a series of seven gateways set at an angle so that armies could not charge them with any success. Pass the gates, the fort-palace takes one's breath away . Across from huge courtyards are the set wings of palatial apartments that have been built over five centuries of bristling history. Also visit the Jaswant Thada, located half way up the interminably long road that climbs onwards to the fort, is the traditional cremation ground of the rulers of Jodhpur. Taking pride of place amongst the ornamental gardens and chattris is the fabulous white marble memorial to Jaswant Singh II, built in 1899. The cenotaphs of other rulers, in the same neighbourhood, are relatively simpler. Inside the main hall are royal portraits and other possessions. Night stay in Jodhpur. Day 16 / Jodhpur - Jaisalmer Morning drive to Jaisalmer. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Later in the evening visit the abandoned haunting village of Kuldhera and take an enjoying camel ride at the golden sand dunes of the Samm by the sunset. Night stay in Jaisalmer. Day 17 / Jaisalmer ![]() Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing of various attractions of the town covering fort with its temples & palaces, the Havelis, the amazing maze of lanes and bylanes, Gadsisar tank, Bada Bagh and Vyas Chhattries. ( 80 meters above plains ) & Jain Temples within the Fort, built in 12th to 15th century which are very worth watching. The specialty of the Fort is that still approximately 5000 people are living inside. Visit Fort Palace & atop from Palace you can have the golden view of whole Jaisalmer city as whole city is built in yellow sand stones, when sun rays fall on the city, it give impression as golden city of India. Afterwards visit Patwon Ki Haveli and Nath Ji Mal Ki Haveli. Evening reserved for folk entertainment. Night stay in Jaisalmer. Day 18 / Jaisalmer - Bikaner Morning drive to Bikaner travelling through the Kheechan village and spend some time there with migratory cranes. At Bikaner visit the Junagarh Fort and the Karnimata Temple at Deshnok. Also visit the prestigious camel breeding farm in the evening. Night saty in Bikaner. Day 19 / Bikaner - Mandawa Morning drive through the Tal Chhaper Deer Sanctuary and finally reach this cute little town Mandawa. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Later go for a walk in the town and survey some of the most beautiful frescoes in the Havelis of Dundlod, Laxmangarh, Nawalgarh and Mukundgarh. Night stay in Mandawa. Day 20 / Mandawa - Jaipur Morning drive to Jaipur and transfer to hotel. In the evening walk through many interesting lanes of Jaipur, which are full of shops of artisans, temples and traditional houses. Night stay in Jaipur. Day 21 / Jaipur ![]() After a leisurely breakfast , visit the majestic Amber Fort, is one that cannot be easily described. Ride up on Elephants to the former capital of the royals set against the backdrop of the wooded hills. Later visit the City Palace, Palace of Winds also known as Hawa Mahal, this elaborate building, now little more than a façade, is encrusted with delicate screen sand carved balconies from which the royal ladies, confined to their quarters, could sneak views of the outside world. Past, present and future merge at Jai Singh's observatory, where time has been accurately measured since the 17th century. Evening enjoy dinner at Chokhi dhani (an ethnic village resort) where you will have an idea of the village life of Rajasthan here you will also enjoy various traditional Rajasthani dances, puppet show and various other interesting activities. Night stay in Jaipur. Day 22 / Jaipur - Delhi - Departure After a relaxed breakfast drive to Delhi & transfer to airport to board the flight back home. |
